Job title: Chip Power Estimation Engineer
Job description: NVIDIA is looking for a passionate, creative and highly motivated Engineer to work on estimating the architectural power of the world’s leading GPUs and SOCs. In this role, responsibility includes developing advanced power models to estimate the power of chips and boards in product-driven use cases. You need to understand high-level chip architecture, application use cases, low power design techniques, technological aspects of processes that impact dynamic and leakage power, develop estimation infrastructure, estimate energy consumption in various scenarios. You will work with architecture, design, synthesis, timing, circuitry, and post-silicon teams to accomplish your tasks.

What you will do:
Architecture, development and correlation of power estimation models / tools for NVIDIA chips
Assist in the architecture and development of power models for use cases, idle power, and I / O power.
Participate in the design of tools based on these models and their methodology / test infrastructures
Correlate and calibrate power models using measured silicon data
Analyze and help decide on chip configuration and processing technology options to optimize power / performance for upcoming NVIDIA chips
Help study and contribute performance / watt improvement ideas for NVIDIA GPUs and SOCs
What to see:
B.Tech./M.Tech and 1-2 years of experience related to estimation techniques and power / performance optimization
Solid power fundamentals including leakage / dynamic characteristics at the transistor level of VLSI circuits
Familiarity with low power consumption design techniques such as multi VT, clock synchronization, power synchronization and dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS)
Strong experience in power estimation techniques, flows and algorithms
Good software programming skills. Python / C ++ preferred. Good object oriented programming and design skills.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Exposure to lab setup including power measurement equipment such as oscilloscope / DAQ with the ability to analyze board level power issues is a plus
Exposure to EDA power analysis tools such as PTPX / EPS
Good communication skills and desire to work as a good teammate
