The OTC Derivatives (OTC) Valuation Control Group is organized into a team of OTC derivatives valuation and quantification specialists based in Dallas, Bournemouth, Singapore and Mumbai. The VCG team provides OTC derivatives valuation support to institutional clients, asset managers, hedge funds and insurance companies who have outsourced some or all of their operations to JP Morgan. The VCG team is the first line of support for the production / sourcing of reviews and the management of review requests for internal and external clients. The team also functions as one of the subject matter experts within the company for the management and assessment of the life cycle of derivatives.

The team is looking for an experienced VCG Valuation Senior with exposure to Cross-Asset products to assist with the daily valuation of OTC derivatives, as well as projects related to the development of new instruments and the customer integration. It is a unique opportunity to work in a cross-asset environment with exposure to all types of vanilla derivatives to complex products.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide independent valuation services to internal and external clients through a range of OTC derivatives, including credit, equity, interest rate, foreign exchange, inflation, commodities derivatives raw and volatility / variance
  • Responsible for the daily capture, validation and calibration of market data on all types of data required for model valuations, including quantitative and qualitative adjustments
  • Responsible for the production and analysis of valuation movements within client portfolios on a daily basis. For some clients this will also involve comparing and analyzing OTC reviews across multiple sources and the candidate should be able to clearly articulate the cause of any assessment difference.
  • Assist in the deployment / support of new derivative products from a valuation and lifecycle management perspective, including benchmarks and back-tests as part of the model validation process
  • Establish and develop strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Help with the integration of new customers and products
  • Resolve ad hoc issues, including issues related to assessment, procedures and third party processes
  • Work with the VCG product development team with the new instrument development process

  • Knowledge of OTC derivatives in all asset classes including sensitivity analysis (pv01, delta, gamma, vega, theta, rho, etc.) and how these are generated and used to analyze OTC valuations
  • Previous experience in Middle Office / OTC derivatives valuation or in Trading Desk (

Description of the role:

Analytic

  • Work on Board – this is a next generation tool that helps with various types of data representation and dashboard. This is useful for presentation to senior management, used as a forecasting tool and for budget analysis.
  • Work on data analysis tools to develop workflows within the VCG process. These workflows will be enhanced versions of existing processes. The objective will be to sensitize the system to provide suggestive comments on the breaches of tolerance.
  • The analysis tool will also provide suggestive mapping for transactions between the client and the counterparty.
