Job summary

The Specialist – GBS Procurement will be based in Chennai. The GBS Procurement Specialist should be a purchasing professional who can quickly and accurately process purchase orders in a fast-paced environment. Has excellent stakeholder service skills and works well as a team to consistently achieve ambitious performance goals.

Here’s a look at what you’ll do:

  • Timely issuance of purchase orders to suppliers, tracking order confirmation and coordinating on-time payment to suppliers
  • Coordination with suppliers for the actual delivery status of the material
  • On time completion of open purchase order report and shortage report for review
  • Efficiently and accurately execute basic procurement processes for assigned products
  • Meet or exceed desired service levels and inventory targets as defined for assigned products, validated by procurement metrics
  • Coordinate with internal business partner (requestor) and supplier for changes to purchase orders
  • Select the supplier to place new orders according to approved purchasing strategies
  • Supplier database management
  • Identify, recommend and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement in the execution of procurement processes
  • Perform root cause analysis to expedite resolution of service issues
  • Prepare custom reports to analyze and integrate improvements into processes
  • Should we include managing escalating shortages / excess, coordinating and tracking urgent receipts, managing overdue dues and resolving receipt issues?

Here are some items you will need (required):

  • Education: Bachelor or Graduates in Engineering
  • Mandatory knowledge of software applications, MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint (PF).
  • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY

  • Experience in the fields: Order Processing, Supply Chain Management, Order Management, End-to-End Purchasing preferably
  • Knowledge of ERP (preferably BAAN)
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry preferably in electronics
  • Knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills MANDATORY
  • Good analytical skills
